Success Story - Billy Hyde
Billy Hyde Jr began coming to House of Hope in 2016 as a client. He was getting food to help his son struggling with addiction and for his father, who was fighting cancer. Despite his struggles at home, Bill always walked in with a smile. His positive energy, loving personality, and endless supply of stories made him easy to connect with, and he quickly became friends with all of the volunteers. Shortly after coming to House of Hope to receive food, Bill started attending church at Blessed Hope and grounding himself through Christ.
Touched by the work being done at House of Hope, Bill began to volunteer off and on in 2016, and after his father’s passing in 2020, when he was no longer a caregiver, he became a full-time part of our team. At first, he would just come help unload trucks and load cars; now, Bill is an invaluable part of the organization.
Billy spends countless hours every week driving to pick up donations, forming relationships with donors, maintaining the church grounds, and supporting all House of Hope operations. Billy Hyde Jr is not just a House of Hope client or volunteer; he is family, and we are so blessed to have him in our lives.
